Description
The Coder II is responsible for accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient medical records in accordance with official coding guidelines and regulatory requirements. This role ensures timely completion of coding assignments, supports accurate reimbursement, maintains coding quality standards, and meets established productivity goals. The Coder II collaborates with providers and clinical staff as needed to clarify documentation and promotes compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
Full Time Remote. Available in most states.

Requirements
Certifications: Requires Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification by AHIMA or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification by AAPC.
Education: Associates degree in Health Information Management or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
Experience: Requires minimum of 3 years recent acute care hospital inpatient coding or outpatient infusion coding experience.
Special Skills: Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease processes, pharmacology, diagnosis and procedural terms to assign the current version of ICD diagnosis and procedure codes.
Proficient computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
